This book highlights the concepts, issues and policies related to the circular economy. The chapters of this book are designed to include the theoretical approach to the green circular economy, sustainable supply chain and challenges in the green circular economy. The book is a step towards designing sustainable circular economy embedded production and management practices. This book also addresses the capability of green-lean productions and a circular economy to improve resource efficiency and address environmental sustainability issues.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>Environmental sustainability is a hot topic in politics, science, and industry. There is a need to achieve economic, social, and environmental sustainability goals through adaptations of the green circular economy, which can help minimize greenhouse gas emissions, toxic pollutant releases, waste and energy and resource usage by employing renewable energy concepts and recyclable materials. The production processes must be resource-efficient and environmentally friendly, including green-lean manufacturing. Adopting a circular economy in manufacturing is less evident than green-lean management. However, systematic strategies to bridge this gap have yet to be devised.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>There is an urgent need to fully explore the Circular Economy concept to attain resource and environmental goals for the sustainability of the environment in the present era of global climate change. Its framework's powerful strategies need to solve the problem created by linear economic growth through industrialization and gross economic growth. There is a need to improve the sustainability management capabilities in the manufacturing and industrial sector to support the circular economy and a need to examine the impact of green human resource management. This book proposes the combined approach of green-lean solutions and a green circular economy. Through this book, we try to produce the content and information ina compiled form to give the audience an understanding of the circular economy concept framework and challenges.</div>

<b>​</b><b>Dr. Pardeep Singh</b> is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Studies, PGDAV College, University of Delhi, New Delhi, India. He obtained his doctorate from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi. His area of doctoral research is in environmental management. He has published more than 75 research and review papers in international journals on waste management. He has also edited 45 books on the environment and waste management with reputed publishers like Springer Nature, Elsevier, CRC and Wiley.<div><br></div><div><b>Anamika Yadav</b> works with the Centre for Science and Environment, a policy and advocacy think-tank based out of New Delhi, India. Here, she is working to find sustainable answers to the unsustainable food systems and a green circular economy. She is also a Doctoral Fellow at the Centre for Studies in Science Policy, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. Her doctoral research explores the debates around the green circular economy. She also has experience working with social, academic, and research organisations in different capacities.<br></div><div><br></div><div><b>Dr. Indranil Chowdhury</b> did his MA, MPhil, and PhD at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics, PGDAV College, University of Delhi, New Delhi, India. He has been teaching at the University of Delhi for the last 19 years. His area of interest is Monetary Economics and Macroeconomics. Apart from Economics, he is also interested in Data Science and is highly skilled in the programming language R. He is also an Associate Fellow at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS) in Shimla. His papers and articles have been published in various journals and national newspapers.</div><div><br></div><div><b>Dr. Ravindra Pratap Singh</b>, currently working as a Chief Engineer in the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Govt.of India, is an astute leader with over 25 years of experience in the fields of Public Procurement, Project Management, monitoring/implementation of environmental and social safeguards, urban planning, solid waste management, wastewater treatment, etc. Ravindra has a special interest in Sustainable Development, especially in sustainable construction. He has worked with World Bank on Highway Projects in India and with JICA on a Japanese Govt. grant aide project at Varanasi. As an expert and member of the heritage conservation committee on the river Ganga, he was associated with the conservation of the river in Varanasi. Other than his profession, he also has a keen interest in the field of academics. He completed his graduation in the field of Civil Engineering in the year 1989 from Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology, his post-graduation in Civil Engineering (specialisation in structure engineering) from IIT (BHU) in the academic year 1991–1993 and got his PhD from the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India.&nbsp;<br></div><div> <p>&nbsp;</p><br></div>
