John Habberton (1842–1921) was an American author, celebrated for his engaging and humorous style, most prominently personified in his best-known work 'Helen's Babies' (1876). Born in Brooklyn, New York, Habberton pursued a career in journalism before turning to literature. He served as a war correspondent during the Civil War and later became an editorial writer for the New York Herald.
